Georgia Sea Turtle Center Field Trip

Today, we took a day trip to Jekyll Island to see the Sea Turtle Center.  The boys learned about the dangers that sea turtles face, how the Sea Turtle Center helps care for injured or sick turtles, got some pretty good pizza, and got to explore Driftwood Beach.  GREAT day.  Here are some pics!
Inside the turtle hospital.

Thumbing through information on one of the turtles.

They had huge mirrors above some of the pools so you could see the turtles better.
That's how this picture was taken.

Monkey see, monkey do.

This turtle was pulled out for a physical inspection.

They had to load her up on a dolly.

She was HUGE!

Here, the caretakers are checking out her underbelly where she had a cut of some sort.

Inside the center.

Lots of buttons to push and little flaps to lift.

Going through a sea turtle journey, stamping at different story stations.

More fun things to spin around and read about turtles.

One of the story stations where you stamp your journey paper.

Different sea turtle skulls.
And then we headed out to Driftwood Beach!

All our buds.
Boys, boys, and more boys!
